Jane Fonda literally helped shape my childhood.

When I was about 9 I found her workout VHS in our collection and turned it on. I did it 100s of times and as recently as an undergrad for a nice little throwback.

What they don’t tell you in the fine print is Jane was 45 when she filmed this workout #goals and it became one of the top-selling videos of all time.

What I learned to love from the early days of following along - was how to break off and do my own thing. I would still keep Jane on for company, but a lot of the time I just started to do whatever workout I felt like doing that day. Usually, it was more jumping jacks. Ah, the boundless energy of youth.

Besides incredible moves - what Jane Fonda’s early workout foundation gave me was the opportunity to really start to listen to my own body. And unlike in a typical workout class - where it is super frowned upon (and usually rightly so) to just break off and do completely your own thing - at home you’re just free to get your freak on.
